Advanced Leadership Institute

Established in 1999, the Charles E. Williams Advanced Leadership Institute provides opportunities for exemplary student leaders to engage in an in-depth experience that will prepare you to be transformational leaders on the campus and in their communities. Charles left a legacy to assist others, maintain an enduring sense of faith in every facet of life, and to allow ones behavior to inspire others to become true leaders. ALI will assist you in improving your leadership skills through various learning tools such as facilitated dialogue, case studies and experimental learning. In turn, the skills learned will help you to strengthen your leadership skills

A native of Galveston Texas, Charles’ brief life served as an example to all who seek betterment for themselves and their communities. Charles’ competiveness and desire for continued self-improvement even in the face of adversity has left a legacy that his family and friends will learn from. That legacy is to find purpose and vision in life, to assist others without regard to personal gain, to maintain an enduring sense of faith in every facet of life, and to allow ones behavior to be an inspiring example of becoming a true leader.

The purpose of the Institute is to provide opportunities for exemplary and seasoned student leaders to engage in an in-depth experience that will prepare them to be transformational leaders on their campus and in their communities. This will be accomplished through facilitated dialogue, case studies and experimental learning. Thus enabling these students to take their rightful positions of leadership. The students will also participate in an etiquette lunch or dinner.

The activities of the Institute run concurrently with the workshop sessions of SBSLC.
