Mr. Steven Levingston
Chair - SBSLC 2009

Howdy SBSCLC 2011 Participants and Advisors,

On behalf of the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference (SBSLC), it is my pleasure and honor to welcome you to one of the most prominent collegiate leadership events in the nation. The Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference is dedicated to helping make you the best students, leaders, and citizens in your communities. We hope over this four day event you are inspired to continue to advance academically, thrive professionally, and contribute positively to society.

Each conference embodies a theme that leads all participants to a unified goal. The theme for SBSLC 2011 is “The Image of Impact: A Reflection of a Leader.” We hope the theme challenges you to recognize the impact that just one individual can have and inspires you to be leaders dedicated to positive impact in the community.

As chair, I thank and commend both the executive and associate staffs for all of the time and hard work they have given to the planning of SBSLC. The SBSLC Executive staff has worked for almost a year to make SBSLC 2011 an experience that will surpass the success of any past conference. The effort our staff dedicates to planning this conference is completely voluntary and truly unparallel. When planning this conference, our goal is to provide an amazing experience that leaves you empowered to harness your talent and strength to be successful leaders.

We are honored to have you as a participant for the Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference and welcome you to Texas A&M University.

Sincerely,

Lauren L. Kelly SBSLC Chair 2011
